Tulfarris Golf Club Saturday 15th March Cavan’s best championship course by a country mile –   Captain Sean McEvoy’s Prize Friday 30th & Saturday 31st. August 2024 – Simple Be There! Saturday 10th May will host our visit  to Concra Wooda – a heavenly paradise.  Simply a wonderful place to play golf!!! Make it as a treat and soak up the scenery, good company and Monaghan hospitality. Bring it on……..!!!!!!!!!!! Jack’s creation on Saturday 19th May is our next port of call. The sprawling parkland dotted with bunkers and perfectly placed water hazards is sure to test all members. Look forward to our challenge around Killeen Castle and enjoy another special Shamrocks outing. All roads lead to the Old Headfort this Saturday for Captain Liam McIntyre’s Prize, although from recent rumours it seems many practice rounds have already taken place. The winner is already home and hosed and it is not Jeffrey according to reports from the gallops. Nev is the favourite with Adrian Kelly expected to confirm his hot form with prominence. It is the taking part that counts and looking forward to seeing you all there on Saturday 2nd. Big day on Saturday 10th June when members will compete for President Eric Davidson’s Prize. Bumper crowd expected with refreshments topped off with a brandy available to all on the 10th tee box. Richard reckons he will shoot the lights out on the back nine and win the prize in a canter. This Saturday New Headfort is the challenge and please note that our first tee time is at 9.30am and the last one is 11.00am. This change by the club is to ensure that all golfers get finished in daylight. Looking forward to meeting many of you on Saturday morning. After the aristocracy of Kerry we now head to the Royal plains of Meath this coming Saturday. The subtle design of Rathcore will test the skills of all members and their course management. Golfers are required to attend before our first tee off time at 10.00am. A superb opportunity for new winners!!! Shamrocks Golf Society members are tackling the beautiful drumlin terrain of Conra Wood on Saturday 3rd September. This is another fantastic opportunity for you to test your skills on Monaghan’s outstanding jewel. As a prelude to our Golf Classic on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th, the Society have encouraged Seamie Sheridan to do a badly needed “Hair Cut”  for Bailieborough Cancer Comfort Ltd. This “late evening hairdressing” will take place on Sept 3rd in the Square around 9pm after our outing to Concra Wood. The trimming of his greying locks have been assigned to Roza Carolan and will assist the society’s fund raising drive for this vital community service. Donations are going well but if you have not have already donated for this worthy cause you can still contribute through “Hall’s Newsagent” and “The Square Bar”. Please donate and bring “Seamie” back to his childhood barbered look crafted by the late Johnny Bird. Our next outing is Captain Kieran’s Day on Saturday 6th August 2016 around the majestic shores of Lough Erne. This is the day that members get the opportunity to honour Captain Kieran by playing for his prize and attending his dinner and presentation at 7.00pm in Bailie Hotel. after the golf. The...
